TGV Lyria: the Swiss train

TGV Lyria will take you to Paris! The panoramic views from the Eiffel Tower, shopping on the Champs Elysées, the historic marvels of the Louvre, the magic world of Disneyland, without forgetting those unmissable neighbourhoods where it is good to stroll: Montmartre, the Marais, the banks of the Seine… Paris is not that far by train!

The TGV Lyria daily connect the main Swiss cities to Paris:

  • Geneva - Paris Gare de Lyon in 3h22 with up to 7 daily return journeys
  • Lausanne - Dijon - Paris Gare de Lyon with up to 5 daily return journeys
  • Zurich - Basel - Paris Gare de l'Est with up to 4 daily return journeys
  • Bern - Neuchâtel - Dijon - Paris Gare de Lyon with up to 2 daily return journeys

Once a week, the TGV Lyria connect Brig to Paris, and serve Visp (Viège), Leuk (Loèche), Sierre, Sion, Martigny, Aigle and Montreux. The TGV Lyria departing from the Vaud and Wallis regions have the following frequency:

  • 2 weekly return journeys in July and August with the summer TGV Lyria,
  • 2 weekly return journeys from December to April TGV Lyria des Neiges

 

The main assets

  • Bar coach on all the TGV Lyria with snack bar: breakfasts, sandwiches, hot meals, salads, hot or cold drinks, sweets.
  • A catering service at your seat provided by the Compagnie des Wagons Lits is offered to the 1st class passengers on the lines Zurich - Basel-Paris, Lausanne - Paris and Bern - Paris. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, formulas (first course+meal or meal+dessert) are offered to you. This catering service at your seat can be booked and paid simultaneously to the TGV Lyria ticket, or directly on board of the train.
  • Free daily papers in 1st class (except Geneva - Paris): Tages Anzeiger or Basler Zeitung at departure of Basel and Zurich, Le Temps or Der Bund on departure of Bern and Lausanne and Le Figaro or Le Monde when departing from Paris.
  • The 1st class coaches are fitted with power contacts 220V on the line Bern/Lausanne - Paris, Zurich - Paris and on the Duplex rolling stock between Geneva and Paris.
  • Commercial speed of 320 km/h on the Zurich - Paris line.
  • A more modern environment with interior design designed by Christian Lacroix on the line Zurich - Paris.
  • The 1st class passengers can benefit from the service "Booked Taxis" on the TGV Lyria going to Paris, from Monday to Sunday (except the 9274 of Sunday evening).

The tariffs have specific exchange and refund conditions and apply to all the TGV Lyria, including those departing from or going to the intermediary stations.

  • In any SNCF station or shop or the travel agency where you bought your tickets.

Under which conditions:

  • Most of the TGV Lyria tickets may be exchanged or refunded in conformity with the conditions of the various travel formulas.

You are in France: Confirm your seat availability before the departure of your train, SNCF shop or on 36 35 (0.23 €/min) : you will avoid a fee. As soon as the booking has been cancelled, return your ticket to the SNCF customer relations service (address below).

You are outside France: Confirm your seat availability before the departure of your train in a CFF, SNCB, NS, CFL station or SNCF shop: you will avoid a fee. As soon as the booking has been cancelled, return your ticket to the SNCF customer relations service.

Don't forget to indicate all your bank details in international format (IBAN and BIC code). Incomplete applications will not be processed.

Under which conditions:

The Lyria tickets are refundable:

  • by 100 % before departure and by 50% after departure and up to 60 days after the planned date of travel, if you hold an Adult, Child, Wheelchair user ticket.
  • by 100 % before departure for the Youth, Senior, Baby Pass and Leisure (return) tickets.

 

Commitment of guaranteed timetable

If a delay of at least 30 minutes is recorded on the journey of the TGV Lyria (for a journey of at least 100 km) a compensation equal to one third of the total value of your ticket can be paid out to you, in the shape of Bons Voyages*.

To obtain this compensation, you only need to complete the envelope « regularity » that you were given at the end of the journey and insert your original ticket, then post the envelope without stamp, without letter and 45 days after the travel date at the latest.
